Wildlife Management

Forest management activities have negative and positive effects on wildlife resources. In order to protect Pennsylvania's wildlife resources it is important to use best management practices throughout the Commonwealth. The following links promote wildlife conservation and stewardship. These resources will be valuable in ensuring wildlife protection.

Forest Stewardship-Wildlife is a 20 page document that recognizes wildlife as a vital part of healthy forests. Information in this publication provides landowners with basic knowledge on wildlife stewardship on forested lands.

Wildlife in Pennsylvania, presented by the PA game commission, hosts informational species guides, reference guides and bird watching resources.

The Wildlife Management Institute (WMI) is a private, nonprofit, scientific and educational organization. It is committed to theconservation, enhancement and professional management of North America's wildlife and other natural resources.

Wildlife Habitat in Forestry Management is a listserve that provides a wealth of links to wildlife management sources from Resource Cooperative Extensions throughout the nation.
